Your family fun holiday starts with exploring the Old Quarter and enjoying the traditional water puppet show in the ancient capital city of Hanoi. Cruise along scenic Halong Bay on an overnight junk boat. Experience a cyclo ride to the impressive remains of the walled Imperial Citadel in Hue. Have some family relaxation time in ancient harbour town-Hoi An, crawl through the extraordinary Cu Chi tunnels and take a sampan boat to explore the tranquil waterways of the Mekong Delta in Saigon.

Day 1 -2 Hanoi
On the first day of arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The next morning take a photo stop at Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, visit his former home, the House of Stilts and the One Pillar Pagoda. Tour the fascinating Old Quarter where your family can enjoy bargain souvenir shopping. Sample a local specialty dinner after watching a water puppet performance. (B/D)

Day 3 - 4 Halong Bay
Sit back and enjoy your first view of the northern countryside as we drive to Halong Bay - one of the world’s greatest natural wonders. Sail among thousands of limestone islands rising mystically from the water. Explore caves and grottoes, swim or relax on the beach. Stay overnight on a traditional junk boat. The next morning take a sampan tour for some fun monkey spotting. Disembark and transfer to the railway station for your comfortable overnight train to Hue. (2B/2L/1D)

Day 5 Hue
Arrive in the former imperial city of Hue and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy a cyclo ride to the impressive remains of the walled Imperial Citadel, then take a boat cruise through the centre of Hue on the romantic Perfume River to the iconic Thien Mu Pagoda. Visit ornate imperial tombs before sampling delicious local cuisine. (B/D)

Day 6 - 7 Hoi An
Take a scenic drive over the stunning Hai Van Pass to Hoi An and feast your eyes on spectacular coastal scenery. Make a stopover to visit Marble Mountain. Enjoy a tour of historic Hoi An, visit ancient merchants’ houses, a Hokkien Temple, 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge and browse through the colourful riverside market. The next day is your free time to explore this ancient harbour town. Consider hiring a bike to explore local streets or buy some handmade clothes. There are nearly 100 silk shops offering same-day services for tailor-made clothes at incredibly low prices. (B/D)

Day 8 Ho Chi Minh City
After a short flight to Ho Chi Minh City - Vietnam’s largest city, explore Saigon’s famous Cu Chi Tunnels, an amazing underground network of tunnels which stretches over hundreds of kilometres. You’ll have the opportunity to crawl in a section of the tunnels to learn how the brave locals built underground hospitals, kitchens and meeting rooms during their struggle for a unified Vietnam. Enjoy a dinner cruise along the Saigon River. (B/L)

Day 9 – 10 Mekong Delta
Explore the lush countryside of the Mekong Delta, the “rice bowl” of Vietnam. Cruising through the canals, rivers and backwaters, you’ll learn about the daily lives of the local people. Taste exotic fruits, sample a Mekong specialty lunch, walk on the island’s trails and go on a sampan ride through some of the small creeks. In the afternoon wander through Saigon’s historic Dong Khoi Street, visit the Reunification Palace, War Remnants Museum and Central Post Office. Your family Vietnam holiday ends with an airport transfer on Day 10. (2B/1L)
