A life time adventure overland tour takes you through one of world’s most mysterious, remote and interesting Tibetan Plateau from Lhasa – the capital city of Tibet to Nepal’s capital city of Kathmandu. Start your journey in Lhasa, known as “The Roof of the World”, visit to the Potala Palace - former home of Dalai Lama. Stop at the sacred Yumdrok Lake, cross vast mountains, deep valleys and century old caravan trails to Gyantse and Shigatse, visit fabled monasteries. Continually drive pass the vast sweeping landscape dotted with yaks and nomads to Mt. Everest Base Camp. From there, enjoy panoramic Himalayan views and unrivalled views of the north face of Mt. Everest. Venture into the Rongbuk Valley before reach the stunning mountain town of Zhangmu, crossing the board of China and Nepal to Kathmandu; end this amazing journey with a guided tour of Kathmandu.



Day 1 - 3 Lhasa
Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. In the next two days, Visit the world-famous architectural wonder – Potala Palace, towering over the entire mountain. This is where the Dalai Lama spent his winters. Visit the Jokhang Temple, the most sacred place in Tibet. Wander through a market at Barkor Circuit where you will be surrounded by prostrating pilgrims. Enjoy a Tibetan specialty dinner. Visit the Norbulingka Park, it was the site of the Dalai Lamas’ Summer Palace, explore the impressive Sera and Drepung Monasteries and observe interesting debating monks. Take a backstreet walking tour of Tibetan Quarter and overlook the Lhasa Valley from the hilltop at Pawang Ka. (2B/1D)
Day 4 Lhasa / Gyantse
Enjoy a scenic drive to Tibet’s holy Yamdrok Lake - a sparkling turquoise lake flanked by snow-capped peaks. On the way, you will see local nomad camps, herds of yaks and sheep and beautiful mountains and peaks before arriving Gyantse. (B)
Day 5 Gyantse / Shigatse
Visit to the remarkable architectural masterpiece of Kumbum Stupa with nine levels set in the manner of a step pyramid sumounted by a golden dome. Drive to Shigatse the seat of the Panchen Lama, the second largest city in Tibet. Visit the famous Tashilhunpo Monastery, the highlight of the monastery is the statue of Maitreya Buddha decorated with gold, copper, pearl, amber, coral, diamond and other precious stones The Tashilhunpo Monastery also treasures characteristic wall paintings, featuring the variety of shape resplendent colours and exquisite painting. Visit the summer palace of the Panchen Lama, also called “The New Palace”, covering an area over 500,000 square meters. Enjoy the beauty of mountain views from the palace and explore the city’s thriving Old Quarter. (B)
Day 6 Shegar
Today drive to Shegar then take an afternoon tour of the Shegar Fort and Monastery. (B)
Day 7 Everest Base Camp / Tingri
The next day drive over the Pang La (5150m) to view the north face of Everest (8848m), continually drive to the Rongphu Monastery and Everest Base Camp, the mountain stands before you, soaring 8848m into the heavens. Stay overnight at Tingri, where you see the tip of Everest and many other snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas. (B/L/D)
Day 8 Tingri / Zhangmu
Drive across the rolling plains of the Tibetan Plateau to reach the Lalung La Pass, and then head down the spectacular Sun Kosi Gorge to the Chinese/Nepal border town of Zhangmu where you will spend one night. (B/L/D)
Day 9 Zhangmu / Kathmandu
Drive to the entry point of Nepal, our guide will assist you to go through customs. Another English speaking guide will meet you on the Nepal side of Nepal/Tibet border. Transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu. (B)
Day 10 Kathmandu
Visit Pashupatinath Temple – the most sacred Hindu temple in Nepal. Boudhanath Stupa – the world’s largest stupas, famous for its painted eyes on all four cardinal points. See Swayambhunath, an ancient religious complex consisting of a stupa, shrines and temples. Below is a sublime view of Kathmandu Valley. In the afternoon, visit World Heritage listed former Royal Palace and Durbar Square in Patan and medieval town of Bhaktapur. (B/L/D)
Day 11 Depart Kathmandu
This remarkble tour ends with a hotel/airport transfer. (B)
