13 Days Travel in Vietnam - Hanoi l Halong Bay l Sapa l Hue l Hoi An l Mekong Delta l Saigon
On this soft adverture tour discover the diversity of the local hill tribe people and enjoy amazing mountainous scenery in Sapa. Cruise along the beautiful Halong Bay and experience a cyclo ride in the imperial city of Hue, stroll the quaint streets of charming harbour town - Hoi An, experience the vibe of Saigon and the tranquil waterways of the Mekong Delta.
Day 1 -2 Hanoi
Arrive in Hanoi and transfer to your hotel. The next morning take a walking tour of Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, then his former home, the House of Stilts and the One Pillar Pagoda. Explore the ancient Temple of Literature and the infamous “Hanoi Hilton”. Explore the fascinating Old Quarter where ancient homes and temples are interspersed with stalls! Enjoy a local specialty dinner and an evening water puppet performance. (1B/1D)
Day 3 Halong Bay
Sit back and enjoy your first view of the northern countryside as we drive to Halong Bay - one of the world’s greatest natural wonders. Sail among thousands of limestone islands rising mystically from the water. Explore caves and grottoes, followed by a swim or relaxing on the beach. Stay overnight on a traditional junk boat. (B/L/D)
Day 4 Halong Bay / Hanoi / Sapa
Continue the cruise then change to a wooden boat to explore grottoes and spot monkeys. Returning to Hanoi, enjoy a peaceful walk around Hanoi Kiem Lake before transferring to the railway station for your overnight soft sleeper train to Sapa. (B/L)
Day 5 - 7 Sapa
Arrive in Sapa and transfer to your hotel. The rest of day is free time to wander around the delightful town and local market. During the next two days, explore Ta Van Valley which affords spectacular views of cascading rice fields. Visit different villages of minority ethnic groups for an insight into their unique way of life. Experience the regional lifestyle of the mountain dwelling locals and learn about tribal agriculture. Return on the overnight train to Hanoi on the Day 7. (2B/2L/1D)
Day 8 Hanoi / Hue
Arrive in Hanoi, transfer to the airport for a flight to Danang then transfer to your hotel in Hue - the former imperial city of Vietnam. Take a dragon boat cruise along the romantic Perfume River from the centre of Hue to the iconic Thien Mu Pagoda. Visit ornate imperial tombs and sample local cuisine for dinner. (B/D)
Day 9 - 10 Hoi An
Experience a cyclo ride to the impressive remains of walled Imperial Citadel, before a scenic drive over the stunning Hai Van Pass, which is full of spectacular coastal scenery. Stop at Marble Mountain on the way. Enjoy a walking tour of ancient town of Hoi An, visit ancient merchants’ houses, a Hokkien Temple, 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge and browse through the colourful riverside market. The next day is your free time to explore. You may hire a bike to explore local streets or relaxe at the beach, take a cooking lession or order some tailor-made clothes. (2B/1D)
Day 11 Ho Chi Minh City
After a short flight to Ho Chi Minh City - Vietnam’s largest city, explore Saigon’s famous Cu Chi Tunnels, an amazing underground network of tunnels which stretches over hundreds of kilometres. Enjoy a dinner cruise along the Saigon River. (B/D)
Day 12 - 13 Mekong Delta
Explore the lush countryside of the Mekong Delta, the “rice bowl” of Vietnam. Cruise through canals, rivers and backwaters, you’ll learn about the daily lives of the local people. Taste exotic fruits along the way, sample a Mekong specialty lunch, walk on the island’s trails and go on a sampan ride. Tale an afternoon walking tour of historic Dong Khoi Street, and then visit the Reunification Palace and War Remnants Museum. Your Vietnam tour ends with an airport transfer on Day 13. (2B/1L)
